MASAMI DESIGN New Year's postcards (1999-)

Client: MASAMI DESIGN Co., Ltd.

2004

This postcard was made with the number "4" perforated, to be removed by the recipient.

Takahashi's idea was to turn the meaning of "4," which is sometimes considered a number of ill fortune in Japan, by detaching it from the postcard to make two 4's, which could now be read "yo-shi (good)."

One recipient wrote a reply on the number "4" and sent it back to Takahashi with a stamp affixed.
