MASAMI DESIGN New Year's postcards (1999-)

Client: MASAMI DESIGN Co., Ltd.

2001

Another postcard design with a detachable "1" shape, an idea Takahashi had used for the year 2000 postcard.

The detachable part was hand-assembled.

Starting with this version of a New Year's card, Takahashi has been experimenting with various designs of the "postage paid" imprint, and challenging the use of standardized designs.

Around this time, she explored many different versions of the imprint in other postcard projects. Her attempts included different font sizes for the main text, positions, layouts, and overall designs, and by doing so, she tried replacing the standardized imprint.

Although it took a long time, these attempts have been rewarded by public acceptance of Takahashi's versions as derivative designs of the standardized version and also by public endorsement of the versatile thinking behind it.
