MASAMI DESIGN Business card (2001)

Client: MASAMI DESIGN Co., Ltd.

The business card of MASAMI DESIGN was designed to be a tool to connect one person to another, an act we call in Japan en-musubi (tying the connection).

It is shaped in the way a konnyaku (yam cake) is twisted when served, to make it a semblance of an auspicious knot known as iwai-musubi. Takahashi considers the presenting of a business card as a way of "tying the connection."

The cut-out section in the center is in the shape of the company's square logo, and the cut-out portion is used as a sticker.
