Photograph collection ULTRA (2009)
Client: Nippon Camera
This order came from Mr. Kazunori Kono, who had been editor-in-chief of the magazine Nippon Camera for a long time, and Mr. Katsuhito Nakazato, a photographer. At their request, this collection of photographs was going to be "the darkest photograph collection ever made in Japan".
For this project, Takahashi tried to picture how these photographs, which in some cases were too dark to tell what they were, could be put together as an integrated collection of photographs. Because it was uncertain how the dark areas of the photographs would come out when they were printed, it was not an easy project.
Takahashi chose the paper and printing methods carefully, and the result was a photographic collection of almost complete darkness. Please take a look if you have a chance.
